New Fareboxes / Bio Shield Replacement

Recently the Maintenance Dept. received delivery of one of our new fare boxes. This fare box is being used to identify any installation or placement issues and also any Bio Shield alterations which would be needed prior to the August 2024 installation of all new fare boxes to our conventional fleet.

It was noted during one of our installations attempts that a large gap was present between the top of the fare box and the bottom of the Bio Shield which was due in part to the size difference of the new fare box.

In discussions with Maintenance Management, it was agreed that the replacement of all new Bio Shields will take placed during the installation of the new fare

boxes at which time the Bio Shield could be fitted properly to the new fare box.
